Pakoda is one simple flavorsome south Indian snack. Well not sure how it scores on the health front for all its oil. :) But how often we always give health the first priority. Sometimes indulging in good takes top seat doesnt it?
Once when we had been Goa's Colva beach, we got to taste Onion pakoda in one of the shacks. It was so delicious that we felt we had not tasted anything like that anywhere else. But little did I know, pakodas are added to the south Indian mor kuzhambu ( with some twist) to give Punjabi Pakoda Khadi. So lets jump into the yummy khadi.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup sour curd
- ¼ cup besan
- Turmeric powder
- Red chilli powder ( as per taste and spiciness of choice)
- 1 Spoon ginger-garlic paste
- salt to taste
- 1 cup water
To Temper
- oil
- mustard seeds
- cumin seeds
- methi seeds
- Red chilli
- 1 inch cinnamon stick
- few curry leaves
- Onion finely chopped
- ½ tsp ginger-garlic paste
- few coriander leaves finely chopped

- Now lets get ready for Khadi
- Mix curd, Besan, Turmeric, red chilli powder, Ginger garlic paste and salt in a large mixing bowl and keep ready.
- Heat oil in a kadai, and temper mustard seed, jeera, red chillies, cinnamon and curry leaves.
- Add chopped onions and fry it transparent.
- Add the prepared besan mixture and cook it well in medium low flame. Keep it stirring and as curd should not be overcooked.
- Once the mixture thickens and raw smell goes off it is ready to serve.
- Now just add the pakoras on top just before serving, and garnish with chopped coriander while serving.
- Your tasty Punjabi Khadi is ready to serve.
