Ingredients:
1 cup powdered brown sugar
1 flax egg - 1 spoon of flax seed is roasted and then ground to powder. Then soaked in three spoons of water for 10 mts
1.25 cups of oats
0.5 cup of wheat flour
0.5 tsp of baking soda
Choco chips for decor or sprinkling
50 gms of salted butter ( Butter should be at room temperature and soft. Not hot or cold or hard)
Lukewarm milk if required for bringing the dough to right consistency
Recipe:
- Take a bowl and mix in Oats, Powedered sugar, Baking soda. Mix these dry ingredients well to avoid lumps.
- Add the butter in and mix well. I used my clean hands to mix it up well. Since dry ingredients are more it will rather crumble than combine to form a shape at this stage. Ensure butter gets mixed well.
- Now add in the flax seed paste and mix well. This will add wetness and combine the batter thick and better.
- If needed add two to three spoons of warm milk if the mixture is too dry. It should be wet enough take in a spoon and press into soft sticky balls. You can roll and press them flat , spread them on a parchment paper leaving space between each cookies.
- Now sprinkle choco chips on top. Instead you can also mix in the choco chip before making them into balls.
Now pre heat the Air fryer at 180 degree for 5 mts.
Spread a parchment paper, and place the cookie with good spacing between each on it.
Place them inside the air fryer tin.
Bake them at 180 for 10 mts.
Check if all good. And it would require another 8 to 10 mts for cooking. Try a small batch for 8 mts to see if all good. Then adjust the second stage from 8 to 10 mts as required. It wont require more than this time.
In most cases between 15 to 20 mts of baking you will get a rich oats cookie that will not only be crunchy but will also melt in your mouth.
