Cabbage Thogayal

  Nothing can beat a simple South Indian Iyer cooking. Esp when you are short of time, it is there to rescue and relish your south Indian tastebuds. Here goes a 5 mts recipe.

Cabbage Thogayal:

    Cooking Level: Beginner

    Ingredients: 
                Grated cabbage - 1 Cup
                 Red chillies       - 3 to 4 chillies, more if you want it spicier
                 Urad Dhal         - 1/4 cup
                 Coconut grated  - 1/2 Cup
                 Oil
                 Salt
                 Mustard seeds for tadka.

    Way to go:

  •        Heat Oil in a Kadai
  •        Add the Urad Dhal, Red chillies and fry them in medium flame. Add the grated cabbage and stir fry the cabbage well. Keep it aside.
  •        Add the grated coconut and fry them till it turns light brown and keep aside.
  •        Mix all the ingrediants in a Jar, add a little salt to your taste and grind well. 
  •        Add very little water to get a thick smooth paste
  •        Make Tadka with mustard seeds and pour on this paste.
  •        Serve it with Hot Rice
  It is good to be eaten mixed with plain hot rice. Add a spoon of sesame oil when mixing it with rice if you find it really spicy.  You can fry papads or fryums to match the dish.

Verdict:
            When you have no time for cooking and still hunger pangs bother you. Go for it.
